The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 – Proper Milking It!

Jennifer Lawrence is back in the final Hunger Games – Mockingjay Part 2. We finally get to see her face off against the Capitol, and deliver some long overdue revenge to President Snow.

Katniss Everdeen is the reluctant hero who now has become a symbol of revolution for the districts, being used as a form of propaganda for Alma Coin to unite the people and overthrow the Capitol. Katniss just has one thing on her mind though, putting an arrow through Snow.

Unfortunately, we have to sit through a good 2 hours of random duff dialogue and other bits to see the finale. Thankfully there are some decent action scenes as Snow has turned the entire Capitol into one giant booby trap that even Home Alone’s Macaulay Caulikin would be proud of, although I’m certain the residents wouldn’t as they are casually living their lives. From burning hot tar to flame throwers and collapsing floors, Katniss and her team try to reach the Capitol and face off against Snow.

While this is going on, we have Peeta, the guy who was brainwashed into trying to kill her, also helping her team along. By helping, I mean trying to off them as he also still wants to kill her.

Donald Sutherland is interesting as President Snow as he once again shows how ruthless he can be in trying to keep control of the Capitol and use the power of the Hunger Games to keep the people’s urge to overthrow him at bay.

Overall Mockingjay Part 2 is 2 hours of awesome action but totally redundant dialogue and plot. As always, it’s just another way for the studio to extend a movies lifespan and merchandise the shit out of it. They could have easily cut a lot of bits out and merged Part 1 and 2 together, but I guess we are all suckers for a lass with a bow and arrow (until she freaks out in a crying scene almost strangeling a cat – I almost couldn’t look at the screen).

Anyways here’s a video to enjoy how much Katniss loves Pita:
