Who is Dhillon?

Sunderland Air Show 2013

Well it was the 25th anniversary of the Sunderland Air show that brings in millions of aircraft enthusiasts, fair goers, and general drunkards. It ranged from great weather on Saturday to mediocre stuff on the Sunday, while the planes themselves were always amazing.

I was up in the Metro Radio broadcast with a great view of the beach, the crowds gathering before us, and the yachts and ships cruising on the water. As it was a Sunday pouring with rain some of the acts from Saturday were missing such as the RAF Falcons and the Red Arrows.

We did get to see the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. This consisted of a Lancaster Bomber, a Hurricane and a Spitfire. Other planes included the Red Bull, the Blades as well as various helicopters doing some manoeuvres that seemed very risky!

Overall it was a great day to enjoy some amazing weather with some ice cream at the beach, and some roaring beasts that shouldn’t be able to fly!
