While waiting for the HMS Ocean parade to start I quickly grabbed some pictures of the wildlife to get accustomed to the cameras settings. I figured why not mix it up a little with some shots of ducks relaxing on the hot day, to the water fountain which looked so appealing on the day. I got a chance to play about with the shutter speed to grab sharp images of the birds, while slowing it down to make the fountains water look interesting.
After the day wrapped up I had time to spend so though I would park up next to the Tyne bridge and spend some time seeing what images I could finish with. As I always wanted to get one of the city as dusk settled in this provided a fantastic opportunity. I did manage to run into another photographer named John who also had the same idea, and showed me sometimes its worth going of the regular path to get the shots that look different.
It was an awesome end to the day!
